Volker Göhler
Dr. Volker Göhler, TU Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany
Volker Göhler is a lecturer at TU Bergakademie Freiberg. His work focuses on Artificial Intelligence, particularly Affective Computing, AI in Education, AI Literacy, and the development of empathetic systems. Since 2018, he has taught courses in Artificial Intelligence, Databases, Machine Learning, and Agile Software Development. From 2020 to 2024, he was a Digital Fellow at the Hochschuldidaktik Zentrum Sachsen. He is currently part of the DiAgnostiK project, which develops AI-driven tools for generating teaching materials and assessments. Volker Göhler also co-organizes the LEGAS Workshop, part of the DELFI 2025 conference, which explores how generative AI and gamification can enhance academic writing. With a background in software development and cybersecurity, he integrates this expertise into his teaching and research. He regularly supervises bachelor’s and master’s theses and is active in the Saxon Scholarship of Teaching and Learning network.
